Anagrelide is a medication used to lower platelet counts, mainly for a condition called essential thrombocythemia. It stops the cells in your bone marrow that make platelets from getting bigger. It comes in 0.5 mg capsule form.

You usually start with 0.5 mg, four times a day, and the doctor might change it up. These capsules come in bottles with 100 in each. With anagrelide, your doc keeps an eye on your platelet levels and tunes the dose to keep them in check.
