This oral med is given to folks with non-small cell lung cancer or pancreatic cancer who have EGFR mutations. It’s an EGFR inhibitor—basically, it zeros in on those cancer cells that have those EGFR mutations. They come in three different strengths: 25 mg, 100 mg, and the strongest one, which is 150 mg, all in film-coated tablets.

You’re typically supposed to take it once a day on an empty stomach, with the dose being 150 mg. Each bottle has got 30 tablets inside. You can take it with or without eating, just not with milk or orange juice.
Water’s okay, though. It can give you stomach problems, rashes, and can mess with your liver too, among other issues. There’s a serious warning about a lung problem called ILD that comes with Erlotinib.
Patients really need to keep in touch with their doctor to track how well it’s working and any side effects that might come up.
