Anagrelide helps reduce platelet levels in people with essential thrombocythemia. It does this by stopping megakaryocytes from growing. The pills are 0.5 mg each.

You usually take one four times a day, but your doc might change that if needed. Each bottle holds 100 of these little pills. You take these pills by mouth, and they can be taken with or without eating.

You need to swallow the whole pill, don’t chew it or break it open. You start with a low dose and slowly build it up to get the effect you need. You might be on this for a long time, and your doc will check every so often to see if you need to keep taking it.
