Anagrelide’s job is to treat something called essential thrombocythemia, which is when you have too many platelets floating around. It works by stopping megakaryocytes from growing up, which in turn cuts down on platelet-making. The usual dose of anagrelide is 0.5 mg, four times a day.

But it might get changed based on what works for you. Each tablet has 0.5 mg of the stuff. You can get these anagrelide capsules in a box of 100, and each one is super light because they’re so tiny.

Just so you know, you shouldn’t take more than 84 mg of this stuff a day, or you might risk blood clots and bleeding. Since it’s for lowering platelet levels, anagrelide needs some close watching, mostly about your platelet count and blood stuff.
