Dabrafenib is this pill that doctors use for treating a couple of types of cancer, like BRAF V600E/K-mutant melanoma and NSCLC (which is like non-small cell lung cancer). It works by stopping this BRAF kinase enzyme thing. That enzyme is what causes cells to grow out of control in these cancers.

The pill is in capsule form, and you’ve got two strengths—50 mg and 75 mg. Adults usually take 150 mg of it twice a day, and it’s best to take it on an empty stomach. That makes your total daily dose 300 mg.
