Ivosidenib is used for treating AML that keeps coming back or doesn’t respond to treatment, especially when it has IDH1 mutations. It’s a kind of drug that’s made to focus on and slow down the growth of cancer cells, and it does that by being an IDH1 inhibitor. You can get it as tablets with a film coating, and they’re 250 mg strong.

It’s a kind of drug that’s made to focus on and slow down the growth of cancer cells, and it does that by being an IDH1 inhibitor. The usual dose of ivosidenib is 500 mg, taken once a day, with no food. Each box holds 60 of these tablets. So, the treatment is all about changing what the IDH1 protein does, which is a bit wonky and helps cancer cells grow.
It does this by making something called onconeurin-1 or HIF-2α. This thing messes with how cells grow and how blood vessels form. The tablet’s coating makes it easier to swallow and keeps the medicine safe from stomach acid so it can stay stable until it gets to the intestines where it gets absorbed.
